Celerity Names John Murphy President and Chief Operating Officer

MILPITAS, CA, October 7, 2005 - Celerity, Inc. announced today that John Murphy has joined Celerity as president and chief operating officer responsible for global operations, product development, information technology, human resources, facilities, and quality. Murphy most recently served as executive vice president and chief operating officer for PerkinElmer, Inc. in Wellesley, MA, maker of life and analytical science systems.

Since joining PerkinElmer in 2001, Murphy has been president of Optoelectronics business - a global, high technology component subsystem provider focused on biomedical imaging and industrial smart devices and the Life and Analytical Science businesses - a global leader in system solutions in Genetic Screening and molecular medicine related applications. Prior to that, he spent over eight years as vice president and general manager at Allied Signal in its various businesses. Originally a London native, Murphy has a bachelor's of science degree in computer science with honors from University of Greenwich in London. He also holds a master of science in electrical engineering and computer science, and master of business administration in international in finance from Arizona State University.
