Kinetics Expands Mass Flow Controller Manufacturing Capacity

SANTA CLARA, Calif., July 11, 2000 - Kinetics Group, Inc. a global leader in Mass Flow Controllers, today announced that they have significantly increased manufacturing capacity for Unit Instruments Mass Flow Controllers (MFCs). "We made this capital investment to meet unprecedented growth in MFC unit volume from our customers and to continue to offer the best MFC lead-time in the industry today," said Dan Rubin, President of Kinetics electronics division.

In response to strong forecasts, Kinetics increased manufacturing capacity at both the Yorba Linda, CA and Dublin, Ireland facilities. In addition, all of the Kinetics Customer Support Group facilities worldwide with Unit MFC service capabilities, have now increased capacity to build new MFCs. Kinetics put manufacturing capabilities close to our customer base, to provide faster response to tool down emergencies and other urgent product requests.

The capacity expansion included addition of cleanroom space, new state-of-the-art calibration equipment, and metal fabrication machinery and surface treatment equipment. At the same time Kinetics invested in new manufacturing capacity we updated our processes to reduce build cycle time and to continue to improve upon our MFCs industry leading reliability and quality. In addition, Kinetics has been working closely with its supply base to be prepared for the continued growth in unit volume.
