Kinetics Integrates Chemical Delivery Capabilities in Europe
February 2, 2000 - Kinetics has extended its ability to deliver turnkey flow control systems in Europe through its Fluid Systems Group with the addition of Unit Instruments' mass flow controller operations. The new integrated European structure now combines both instrument and flow control system development and manufacturing, allowing the group to respond rapidly and efficiently to the needs of the region's semiconductor and high-purity industries.
"We believe that our new integrated operation creates the most comprehensive portfolio of flow control systems technology available to the European semiconductor industry", comments Don Firkins, Kinetics Fluid Systems Group's Managing Director for Europe. "Our integrated services support faster ramp-up in production and increased uptime for semiconductor fabs, and help equipment manufacturers to bring tools to market more efficiently by the ability to provide complete custom gas sub-systems".
The two design and manufacturing facilities at the heart of Kinetics Fluid Systems Group's European operations are located at Dublin and Mountrath in Ireland. Both are certified to ISO9001. They are supported by a network of technical support/service staff throughout Europe.
The Dublin centre - previously the European headquarters of Unit Instruments - specialises in mass flow controllers, providing instrument design, manufacturing, repair, calibration and support services including 24-hour, 7-days a week maintenance.
The Mountrath facility adds expertise in flow control systems, and includes extensive experience in the manufacture of traditional welded and modular flow control systems. All final assembly work is carried out in a Class 10 cleanroom.
Manufacturing at both sites exceeds the most stringent specifications required by the semiconductor industry, and design compliance is guaranteed to national codes and industry standards such as CE and SEMI S2.93.
"The wide-ranging flow control capability that results from Kinetics' new integrated operations enable us to advise tool builders and fab operators on the optimum technology for their application," adds Firkins. "Among the specialisms the group can call on to design and configure a custom flow control solution for customers are application engineers with extensive experience of fieldbus networking, modular gas systems assembly, and the control of Safe Delivery Source gas supply."
Kinetics is the largest high-purity process systems provider in the world. The company has performed projects for over 125 semiconductor clients, completed over 100 turnkey systems, hooked up 17,000 tools, and participated in the construction of more than 50 mega-fabs in the last five years. Kinetics is renowned for both quality and the pioneering of new solutions to the market and has offices located in key electronics centres all over the world, to provide a local and fast response to customer requirements.
