CHEMICAL ENGINEER

Major duties

This position reports to the Director of R&D and is responsible for: Developing solutions surrounding liquid applications primarily used in semiconductor wafer manufacturing; Researching and proposing alternative technical improvements to existing processes; Evaluating and introducing new technology, methods or processes; Developing Design of Experiments (DOE) for evaluation/qualification of new technologies and/or process improvements;  Demonstrating sound practices and methods of chemical analysis used in liquid processing environments;  Developing and managing technical solutions necessary to improve existing core technology;  Process developments and implementation of new technology based on Technology Roadmap;  Preparation and presentation of technical material to both internal and external groups;  Onsite evaluations and technical consulting at end-user facilities;  Review and acceptance of Functional Performance Specification, technical bulletins, and standard reports;  Providing support for proposed projects following New Product Development processes and procedures.

Essential requirements

Working knowledge of various techniques used in instrumentation and testing of chemical analysis.  A functional understanding of chemical processing equipment within the semiconductor industry.  Highly self-motivated and capable of creatively resolving issues with personnel or systems.  Able to demonstrate problem solving skills from both a technical standpoint as well as from application specific experiences.  Ability to travel 30%.  Ability to work independently or with a team.  BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  2-4 years in semiconductor processes relating to chemical applications a plus.  Must be proficient in MS Office programs.  Background knowledge of semiconductor wet chemicals or PLC functions and controls engineering a BIG plus.
