CONTROLS ENGINEER III
Major duties
Program, design, and implementation of PLC/SLC code, Operator Interface programming, and PC Supervisory system programming. Service all aspects of the account, including installation, debugging, startup of software and customer software support. Interact with both customers and internal departments. Ensure customer satisfaction at various site locations. Assist and provide input for standards of control's development. Compile data and create reports. Under direct supervision, programs and develops PC Supervisory systems using industry standard HMI/SCADA software such as Rockwell Automation Review, Intellution FIX32 or iFIX, and GE Cimplicity for Windows NT, 2000. Create tag database, which references I/O from PLC. Under direct supervision, develops dynamic graphical screens which represent the equipments running process; creates database for historical data logging and trending charts; and creates database and pager list for automatic alarm paging. Interact with Field Operations concerning start-ups, warranty support, and technical support. Interact within Engineering (equipment design engineering, R&D, electrical engineering, and document control departments). Interact with customer for in-house system demonstrations, design reviews, system source inspections, start-ups, warranty support, etc. Remain informed of new hardware and software platforms and enhancements to existing platforms.
Essential requirements
Proven ability to interact with customers. Customer focused: works on resolution of customer issues. Working knowledge of peer-to-peer networking and Ethernet connectivity. Ability to exercise judgment within established company policies and procedures, following established safety and quality requirements. Must be able to work after or before hours and during weekends when required. Travel required.
